VARITOR Priming Ejector – VG

Description

The VARITOR ejector type VG is designed for the priming of centrifugal pumps installed above the level of the liquid to be pumped. Through the use of compressed air, the ejector produces inside the vacuum which removes the air contained in the pump casing and in the suction pipe, allowing the liquid to rise up to the pump.

A built in level sensor gives the start to the pump avoiding the dry-running. When the delivery pressure of the pump reaches the set point of the pressure switch, the ejector is automatically deactivated stopping the flow of compressed air and isolating the connection which aspires from pump.

In the case where the discharge pressure of the pump drops due to loss of priming, the ejector automatically is activated repeating the cycle of priming.

Different construction are available according for each type of application.

Installation

The ejector can be installed directly on the pump in the suction area, at a point located on the upper part of the casing. The ejector has an auxiliary connection for the evacuation of air present under the cover of vertical pumps.

Alternatively, the ejector can be installed directly on the suction pipe. If the pipe has a regular ascending slope toward the pump, the ejector must be installed close to the suction flange. In the case where the pipe has an irregular layout, the ejector must be installed in a top point so as to perform the complete evacuation of the air contained in it.

The particular configuration of VG ejector permits an easily and quickly installation, which avoids the use of brackets and clamps.
